How to say "let's go out on the town" is Vamos al boliche and that is what we did last night. I went to my Argentine friend's house, Ivanna, and I met some great new people. Her roommate Ryan is studying at a University where the International Studies section is quite small, so the people are from all around the world. There was a guy from Switzerland, Holland, a girl from Germany, one from Brasil, and one from Japan. Then there was me and Ryan from California and then Ivanna y Mari from Argentina. Wow what a cultural mix! Anyway, Ivanna didn't want to go out, so all the international students went out about 230 to a bar that Ryan works at. We got some drinks for free, atleast I didn't pay haha, and then headed over to this club called Barhein about 4am! There, we were trying to get the bouncer to let us in for a discount but ended up paying 30 pesos plus one free drink, not bad since a drink is 20 pesos. Anyway, we got inside and the club is raging! People were dancing, making out, having a good time! We International Students got right into the festivities and danced until 630 am. We danced soooooo late that when we left the subte was starting up again. So, I took the subte home for 1 peso as opposed to paying 15 pesos for a cab ride. Deal! Anyway, I got home around 7am and went to bed around 730 am. I finally had my first really night in Buenos Aires! It was fun but I don't think it will be a regular thing, I woke up soooo late and if it were sunny today I would feel bad but its a cold day so I probably won't end of doing anything anyway. But I finally experienced the city nightlife and I loved it. My new international friends are great! Great spirited, its exactly what I was looking for, to meet some great, interesting people. Now to make some more Argentine friends! Well, Cristian and I are going to the vegetable stand to get our two week supplies of produce and then probably some milk and other essentials. Tonight, I 'm making my Grandmother's famous recipe: drunken chicken. Thanks Grandma o I mean Katherine for your love of white wine! haha. Anyway, all is well, starting to feel like apart of the population but I need to take a bath because everyone smokes in the clubs. My hair smells like an ashtray yuck!
Chau chau!
